June 20, 2024 Licensing for Entry into Specified Correspondence Delivery Business

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received applications from 18 companies for a business license for specified correspondence delivery business, for approval to establish and change correspondence delivery management regulations and establish terms and conditions for correspondence delivery. In response, the MIC consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council regarding the applications and approvals. The MIC has received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to grant the licenses and approvals as consulted.
 In response, the MIC has granted the licenses and approvals today.

 Licensing 18 companies brings the total to 612 specified correspondence delivery service providers. To meet the increasingly sophisticated and diverse needs of users, the specified correspondence delivery business is positioned as a business that provides various services with originality and ingenuity. The entry of these businesses into the correspondence delivery business is expected to expand opportunities for users to choose from.
