June 21, 2024 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Cabinet Order to Partially Revise the Cabinet Order to Determine the Amount of Travel Expenses, etc., under the Radio Act
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on a draft cabinet order to partially amend the cabinet order that specifies the amount of travel expenses, etc., under the Radio Act. The opinion solicitation period ran from Saturday, April 27 to Friday, May 31, 2024.
As a result, six opinions were submitted.
1. Background
In view of recent changes in the economic situation, the maximum amount of daily allowances paid to witnesses who are invited to review matters in the Radio Regulatory Council, chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus at Keio University, should be increased. To address this, the MIC will partially amend the cabinet order that specifies the amount of travel expenses, etc., under the Radio Act.
2. Future plans
Based on the above draft cabinet order, a cabinet order has been promulgated today to partially amend the cabinet order that specifies the amount of travel expenses, etc., under the Radio Act. The amendment will come into effect on July 1, 2024.
