June 24, 2024 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Notice to Partially Amend the Notice on Characteristic Test Methods
- Adding Characteristic Test Methods for Base Stations and Land Mobile Stations in the Sub-6 Band of the 5th Generation Mobile Communication System (5G)

 Regarding the draft notice that partially amends Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Notice No. 88 of 2004, which specifies the methods for characteristic tests, the MIC has solicited opinions from Saturday, March 30, 2024 to Tuesday, May 7, 2024. As a result, 13,105 opinions were submitted. The opinions submitted, along with the MIC's position on them, will be made available.

1. Background

 Regarding 5G using the Sub-6 band, the MIC decided to partially amend the MIC Notice No. 88 of 2004 based on the provisions of item 1 (3) of Appendix 1 to the Rules on Technical Regulations Conformity Certification for Specified Radio Equipment (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 37 of 1981; hereinafter referred to as the "Certification Rules"). The MIC prepared a draft notice that partially amends MIC Notice No. 88 of 2004, which specifies the methods for characteristic tests, and solicited opinions on the draft notice from Saturday, March 30, 2024 to Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

 A draft notice that partially amends MIC Notice No. 88 of 2004, which specifies the methods for characteristic tests.

3. Implementation of the draft notice

 Based on the results of the opinion solicitation, the MIC will amend the notice promptly.
