Result of the Solicitation for Opinions on the First Report (Draft) Concerning “How Post Offices Should Contribute to Local Communities in the Digital Society”

 The Information and Communications Council’s Postal Policy Subcommittee (Chaired by YONEYAMA Takao, Professor Emeritus, Hitotsubashi University) solicited opinions from Friday, May 3 through Thursday, June 6, 2024, on the First Report (Draft) compiled by the Council for Consultation No. 1235 dated October 14, 2022, concerning “How Post Offices Should Contribute to Local Communities in the Digital Society.”
 As a result, 61 opinions were received.

 On Friday, October 14, 2022, MIC consulted the Information and Communications Council on “How Post Offices Should Contribute to Local Communities in the Digital Society.” Regarding this matter, a First Report (Draft) concerning “How Post Offices Should Contribute to Local Communities in the Digital Society” was compiled based on the considerations and deliberations by the Postal Policy Subcommittee (Chaired by YONEYAMA Takao, Professor Emeritus, Hitotsubashi University), and opinions were solicited.
