June 28, 2024 Results of Solicitation of Opinions on the Draft Proposal “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0)” and Release of the Final “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0)”
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on the draft proposal “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0)” from Friday, April 26 to Monday, May 27, 2024, and 460 opinions were received.
MIC compiled the opinions submitted and its position on the opinions and published the “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0)” along with a revised “Smart City Security Guidebook.”
Overview
To ensure security in smart cities, which also contributes to the regional digital transformation and regional revitalization, MIC formulated and published the “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 1.0)” in October 2020, which summarized the security concepts and security measures in the buidling and operation of smart cities, and in June 2021, the Ministry published the “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 2.0)” as guidelines that are more in line with the operations of smart cities and easier to use for entities that build and operate smart cities.
The second edition of the “Smart City Reference Architecture (White Paper),” a premise of the guidelines, was published in August 2023; revising the guidelines is examined while seeking experts’ opinions to respond to subsequent changes in the environment surrounding smart cities.
Opinions were solicited on the draft proposal “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0)” based on the examination results from Friday, April 26, 2024 to Monday, May 27, 2024, and 460 opinions were received.
Based on the opinions submitted, the Ministry conducted a study and formulated the “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 3.0).”
The Ministry also updated the “Smart City Security Guidebook,” which was prepared when the “Smart City Security Guidelines (Version 2.0)” were formulated.
