June 28, 2024 Consultation with and Report from the Radio Regulatory Council on the Approval of the Abolition of Basic Satellite Broadcasting Operations by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK)

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) consulted the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus of Keio University) on the approval of the abolition of Basic Satellite Broadcasting Operations, which was applied for by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (Chaired by INABA Nobuo) under Article 86-1 of the Broadcast Act (Act No. 132 of 1950), a report stating that granting approval is appropriate was received from the council today.
 Based on this report, MIC approves the abolition of the above-mentioned Basic Satellite Broadcasting Operations as of today.
