Technology Strategy Committee Results of the Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Report of the Technology Strategy Committee Concerning “Information and Communications Technology Strategies for Beyond 5G”

 The Technology Strategy Committee, chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, Specially-appointed Professor of the University of Tokyo, under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council solicited opinions on its draft report on "Information and Communications Technology Strategies for Beyond 5G" from Saturday, April 13 to Monday, May 13, 2024. The results of the opinion solicitation are now available.

1. Overview

 The R&D, international standardization, social implementation, and overseas deployment of "Beyond 5G" should be promoted effectively and efficiently, with these efforts being organically coordinated. To formulate new strategies that enable this, the Technology Strategy Committee compiled a draft report on "Information and Communications Technology Strategies for Beyond 5G" and solicited opinions from Saturday, April 13 to Monday, May 13, 2024.
 As a result, 3,048 opinions were submitted.

2. Future plans

 Based on the results of the opinion solicitation, the next meeting of the ICT Subcommittee, chaired by OYA Yuji, Professor Emeritus, Kyushu Institute of Technology, under the Information and Communications Council will deliberate on the draft report on "Information and Communications Technology Strategies for Beyond 5G."
