August 30, 2024 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on the “Annual Report on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2023) (Draft)” and Publication of the Annual Report
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from July 9, 2024 (Tuesday) to August 7, 2024 (Wednesday) on the “Annual Report on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2023) (Draft)” and “Annual Plan on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2024) (Draft)”. Accordingly, MIC is now releasing the results of the appeal for opinions and the “Annual Report on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2023)” and “Annual Plan on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2024) (Draft)”.
○ Results of appeal for opinions
Based on the “Annual Plan on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2023)”, MIC drafted the “Annual Report on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2023) (Draft)”. (hereafter the “Draft Annual Report”).
To conduct market validation that integrates the analysis of market trends in the telecommunications business sector and to confirm and grasp the appropriateness of telecommunications carriers’ operations, MIC has drafted the “Annual Plan on Market Validation in the Telecommunications Business Field (FY 2024) (Draft)” (hereafter the “Draft Basic Policy”), which sets forth our basic approach to market validation and the overall picture of the validation process, based on advice from MIC’s Meeting for Telecommunications Market Validation.
MIC solicited opinions on these drafts from July 9 (Tuesday) through August 7 (Wednesday) and received opinions from a total of 12 respondents (9 opinions for the Draft Annual Report and 11 opinions for the Draft Basic Policy).
