September 25, 2024 Publication of Adopted Project Plans for the FY 2024 Demonstration Project for Regional Information Dissemination Using Video Content (hereinafter referred to as the "FY 2024 Demonstration Project")
For the FY 2024 Demonstration Project in the United States of America, The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) adopted 18 projects based on the results of the evaluation by external experts.
1. Outline of the project
MIC is promoting the overseas deployment of broadcast content to help revitalize regional economies and strengthen soft power.
Although local governments and other entities intend to disseminate information to overseas countries using video content, there are many cases in which they are unable to take steps due to problems such as lack of connections with video producers such as broadcasters and lack of know-how for disseminating information.
To address these issues, this project aims to promote information dissemination through video content by facilitating to build a relationship between local governments and local broadcasters. Additionally, the project aims to verify the effectiveness of information dissemination in the countries or regions targeted by local governments.
2. Selection results
From Friday, July 19, 2024, to noon on Friday, August 23, 2024, a public offering was conducted for project plan applications through a contractor (Dentsu Inc.). The applications were submitted jointly by information disseminating entities (*1) and video producers (*2). The submitted project plans were evaluated by external experts, resulting in the selection of a total of 18 project plans based on the evaluation results.
