January 23, 2025 Preliminary Survey for the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G [6G]) Fund Project “Strategic Program for Social Implementation and Overseas Expansion [Project Strategy Support Type]” (3rd Session)

 Regarding the Information and Communications Research and Development Fund established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), a preliminary survey will be conducted at NICT on research and development projects to be supported by the “Strategic Program for Social Implementation and Overseas Expansion [Project Strategy Support Type]” of the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G [6G]) Fund Project,

1. Overview

 In order to implement the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G [6G]) Fund Project, MIC has established the Information and Communications Research and Development Fund at NICT, and it has been in operation since FY2023.
 This fund project is a “strategic program for social implementation and overseas expansion” that focuses on supporting research and development projects with strategies and commitments for social implementation and overseas expansion, mainly in technology fields in which Japan has strengths.
 Prior to the call for applications for this program, NICT will conduct a preliminary survey to help select the technical fields to be covered by the public offering.
