Broadcasting System Committee Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Report of Broadcasting System Committee -“Technical Requirements for Distribution Equipment Used-for Essential Distribution” of the ”Technical Requirements for Distribution Equipment as Stipulated in Article 20-3, Paragraph 1 of the Broadcast Act”-

 The Broadcasting System Committee under the Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council (headed by Chief Investigator ITAMI Makoto, Professor, Department of Applied Electronics, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science) solicited opinions on the draft report of the Broadcasting System Committee regarding “technical requirements for distribution equipment used for essential distribution” of the “technical requirements for distribution equipment as stipulated in Article 20-3, Paragraph 1 of the Broadcast Act” (Consultation No. 2047, July 2, 2024) from Friday, November 29, 2024 through Monday, January 6, 2025.
 As a result, seven opinions were submitted.

2. Future plans

 This draft report will be discussed at the next meeting of the Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee (chaired by TAKADA Junichi, Executive Vice President (Global Affairs) and Professor, Institute of Science Tokyo, Graduate School of Environment and Society) under the Information and Communications Council.
