October 14, 2025 Outcome of the India Mobile Congress 2025 (IMC 2025) and the 8th Japan-India Policy Dialogue
At the India Mobile Congress 2025 (IMC 2025), held in New Delhi, India, from Wednesday, October 8 to Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) hosted the Japan Pavilion for the first time. On Friday, October 10, the 8th Japan-India Policy Dialogue was also held during the Congress in New Delhi under the Japan-India ICT Cooperation Framework signed in 2014. This Policy Dialogue was the first face-to-face meeting since the 5th Policy Dialogue, which was held in 2018.

2. Main content
(1) IMC 2025
At IMC 2025, held in New Delhi, India, from Wednesday, October 8, 2025, to Saturday, October 11, 2025, the MIC hosted the Japan Pavilion for the first time. At the pavilion, Japanese companies showcased cutting-edge technologies and services in the ICT sector - such as 5G/Beyond 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum cryptography, software-defined vehicles (SDV), and wireless power transfer - as part of their PR activities to expand into overseas markets and develop new businesses.
(2) The 8th Japan-India Policy Dialogue
On Friday, October 10, the 8th India-Japan Policy Dialogue was also held in New Delhi under the India-Japan ICT Cooperation Framework signed in 2014.
This policy dialogue was positioned within the outcome document titled "Japan-India Joint Vision for the Next Decade", released during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Japan in August. Based on the outcomes of the visit, the MIC and the Ministry of Communications of India held a policy dialogue, along with technical presentations by Japanese and Indian companies, reaffirming future bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
3. Future policy
The MIC will continue to support efforts to strengthen the international competitiveness of Japan’s ICT industry and further promote global technological collaboration between Japan and India, considering Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Japan this August and the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” vision.
