October 15, 2025 Holding of "Study Group on Telecommunication Relay Service"

1. Purpose

　Based on the "Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc." (Act No. 53 of 2020), the telecommunication relay service has been provided since July 2021 as a public service for the hearing impaired, etc. to live independently as citizens in society. The purpose of this study group is to summarize the past provision of the telecommunication relay service and to realize more appropriate and reliable provision, etc. of the service.

2. Main items to be considered

(1) Acquiring and increasing users
(2) Call charges and other conditions to provide services
(3) Appropriate costs necessary to operate services
(4) Sign language interpreters and other operators
(5) Other

3. Schedule

　The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Subsequent meetings will be held sequentially thereafter.
