Outcomes of the 18th ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Policy Meeting
The 18th ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Policy Meeting (hereinafter "Policy Meeting") was held over two days from Wednesday, October 8, to Thursday, October 9, 2025.
The Policy Meeting has been held annually since 2009 with the purpose of enhancing international collaboration on cybersecurity among ASEAN member states (hereinafter “AMS”) and Japan.
In this year’s Policy Meeting, AMS and Japan exchanged information on the direction of the cybersecurity policy initiatives, reviewed the outcomes of collaborative activities being promoted between AMS and Japan, and discussed the direction of future collaborative activities.

2 Main Achievements
The future policy directions of ASEAN member states, the ASEAN Secretariat, and Japanese ministries promoting cybersecurity policy were shared, along with the outcomes of the collaborative activities agreed upon at last year's policy meeting. It was confirmed that these collaborative activities will be promoted in the future. As a result, it was agreed to further strengthen future cooperation between ASEAN and Japan, including public-private partnerships.
