October 31, 2025 Announcement of the Telework Top Runner 2025 - Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Award and More

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) actively collects and recognizes pioneering examples to further promote telework—a flexible work style that capitalizes on time and location using ICT.
 MIC is pleased to announce that it has selected the participants for the Telework Top Runner 2025 and the recipients of the Telework Top Runner 2025 - Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Award.

1. Overview

 To spread and promote telework, MIC has been selecting and announcing enterprises and organizations that have introduced and used telework, have a sufficient track record of telework, and are making outstanding efforts.

 This year, companies and organizations that are implementing distinctive initiatives such as promoting telework and workstyle reform in industries traditionally considered unsuitable for telework, or revitalizing regional communities through remote work, side jobs, and multiple employment opportunities made possible by telework will be recognized as “Telework Top Runners 2025.” Among these, those demonstrating particularly outstanding initiatives will be awarded the “Telework Top Runner 2025 - Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Award.”

2. Results of Telework Top Runner 2025 Review

 Based on the screening results by external experts, 13 organizations were selected as “Telework Top Runners 2025.” The following five organizations were selected to receive the “Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Award for Telework Top Runner 2025” for their outstanding efforts that should serve as models for other organizations.

  • Obayashi Corporation, Hokuriku Branch, Noto Peninsula Disaster Recovery Construction Office
  • Oyanagi Construction Inc.
  • Telework Social Issue Resolution Study Task Force
  • Fuji Suishitsu Kanri Co., Ltd.
  • GRA Inc.

3. Awards ceremony

 The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as part of Telework Month, during the “Telework Event – ‘Changing How We Work’” at Ochanomizu Sola City (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), in conjunction with the award ceremony for the Minister of State for Regional Revitalization Award and the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award. The award-winning enterprises will also introduce their efforts.
