November 11, 2025 Announcement of Content of Notification concerning Utilization Business of NTT East Corporation (hereinafter "NTT East") and NTT West Corporation (hereinafter "NTT West")
NTT East, headed by President SHIBUTANI Naoki, and NTT West, headed by President KITAMURA Ryota, recently submitted notifications regarding their business pursuant to Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Act No. 85 of 1984, hereinafter the "Act"). The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will publicly announce the contents of the notifications.

1. Overview
According to Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc., in cases where Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereafter referred to as "NTT East") intends to run any of the business specified in the same provision, it must in advance notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of the matters prescribed for in MIC`s ministerial ordinance.
Pursuant to this provision, NTT East and NTT West submitted notifications on October 17, 2025, describing the matters set forth in Article 2(4) of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Act (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 23 of 1985). In response, the MIC has decided to announce the contents of these notifications under Article 2(5) of the same ordinance.
2. Date for commencement of the services
The notifications, NTT West and NTT East are scheduled to commence operations on November 17, 2025, and February 1, 2026, respectively.
3. Future plans
Details of the MIC’s confirmation of the notified business operations will be posted on the Telecom Competition Policy Portal at a later date.
