November 17, 2025 Acceptance of Applications for Licenses for Ultra-Shortwave (FM) Broadcasting Relay Stations
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will accept applications for licenses for ultra-shortwave (FM) broadcasting relay stations from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Thursday, December 18, 2025.
1. Overview
Regarding license applications for basic terrestrial broadcasting stations, the MIC stipulates the following in MIC Notice No. 183 of 2014 (concerning basic broadcasting stations requiring applications within the public notice period pursuant to Article 6-4, Item 8 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act): the location, frequency, and antenna power of the transmission facilities that must be applied for within the period announced by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
We have decided to accept applications for licenses for ultra-shortwave (FM) broadcasting relay stations as mentioned below.
2. Period (Details of application acceptance)
- (1) Period of acceptance
From 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025 (Applications submitted by mail must arrive no later than the deadline) - (2) Target region for basic terrestrial broadcasting, as well as the installation (transmission) location, frequency, and antenna power of the radio equipment used at the basic terrestrial broadcasting station
