 Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received the partial report from the Information and Communications Council, chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, Special Advisor to NEC Corporation, on the Effective Frequency Allocation (Method for conditional auctions), which forms part of the Effective Radio Use Promotion (Consultation No. 30 dated February 3, 2025).

1. Background

 On Monday, February 3, 2025, the MIC consulted the Information and Communications Council on the Effective Radio Use Promotion.
 This theme was studied and examined by the Effective Use of Radio Wave Committee, chaired by FUJII Takeo, professor of the Advanced Wireless and Communication Research Center at the University of Electro-Communications, under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council. The partial report on Effective Frequency Allocation (Method for conditional auctions) was made at the Information and Communications Council's general meeting held today.

2. Future plans

 The MIC plans to promptly develop guidelines for conditional auctions based on the partial report.
