On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted a consultation (Consultation No. 3200) to the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council, chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, specially-appointed professor at the University of Tokyo, regarding partial amendment to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and other rules. On Tuesday, December 9, the Council reported that the amendments as consulted were appropriate.
Based on this report, the MIC plans to promptly amend the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and other rules.

This matter concerns partial amendments to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 25 of 1985) to develop provisions to reflect the discontinuation of the number announcement and other functions.
2. Report
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the MIC submitted a consultation to the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council, regarding partial amendments to the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and other rules. On Tuesday, December 9, the Council reported that the amendments as consulted were appropriate.
3. Future schedule
Based on the report, the MIC will promptly implement the institutional enhancement.
