February 20, 2025 Results of the ICT Training Program for the Pacific Island Countries
From Monday, February 17, to Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) organized the ICT Training Program for the Pacific Island Countries.
1. Background
Pacific Island countries are located in strategically important regions for economic and security reasons, and connectivity with high-quality digital infrastructure in the Pacific region is important for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has organized the ICT Training Program for the Pacific Island Countries for policymakers from relevant government organizations in the Pacific Island Countries. The objective of this training program is to deepen knowledge of ICT policies and cutting-edge technology related to digital infrastructure, which will contribute to initiatives addressing social issues and capacity building in the Pacific region.
This training program, organized as part of the Australia-Japan Policy Dialogue for Telecommunications Resilience, was hosted by MIC in partnership with the Government of Australia.
