March 26, 2025 Report from the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council on Partial Amendment of the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities Interconnection Accounting Rules

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council, chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, a specially-appointed professor at the University of Tokyo, with regard to the partial amendment of the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities Interconnection Accounting Rules (Consultation No. 3192) on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and today received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to make such an amendment as consulted.
　The MIC plans to immediately conduct the partial amendment of the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities Interconnection Accounting Rules based on this report and other data.

1. Overview

　This is a partial amendment of the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities Interconnection Accounting Rules (MIC Ordinance No. 24 of 2011) to improve provisions in light of changes in the situation regarding the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities System.

2. Report

　The MIC consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, regarding the partial amendment of the Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities Interconnection Accounting Rules, and today received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to make such an amendment as consulted.

3. Future plans

　The MIC will promptly improve the system based on this report.
