March 28, 2025 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Cabinet Order to Partially Revise the Cabinet Order to Determine the Amount of Travel Expenses, etc., under the Radio Act

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions from Wednesday, February 5 through Thursday, March 6, 2025, regarding a draft Cabinet Order to Partially Revise the Cabinet Order to Determine the Amount of Travel Expenses, etc., under the Radio Act. However, no opinions were submitted.
 As a result, no opinions were submitted.

1. Background and overview

 In accordance with the enforcement of the Act to Amend the Act on Travel Expenses of National Public Officers, etc., MIC will amend the amount of travel expenses and accommodation expenses received by witnesses who are required to appear for a hearing before the Radio Regulatory Council, and will also amend the Cabinet Order that stipulates the amount of travel expenses, etc. under the Radio Act and the rules for hearings and opinion hearings conducted by the Radio Regulatory Council, as it is necessary to raise the upper limit of the daily allowance in light of recent changes in economic conditions.

 No opinions were submitted.

3. Future plans

 Based on the above, the “Draft Cabinet Order to Partially Revise the Cabinet Order to Determine the Amount of Travel Expenses, etc., under the Radio Act” was officially enacted today and will come into force on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and the “Ministerial Ordinance Partially Revising Regulations Concerning Deliberations and Opinion Hearings Conducted by the Radio Regulatory Council” will be partially revised and come into force on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
