March 6, 2025 The Results of the Solicitation for Opinions on the Partial Amendment to the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on a draft amendment to the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 46 of 1988) from Thursday, January 23, 2025, to Friday, February 21, 2025, and received five opinions.
1. Summary of the amendment
To reduce the administrative burden on telecommunications carriers, the MIC decided to change the reporting frequency of accidents stipulated in Article 7-3 of the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations from quarterly to yearly. This change is part of institutional enhancements based on the Regulatory Reform Implementation Plan (Cabinet decision on June 21, 2024). To implement this enhancement, the MIC prepared a draft ministerial ordinance to partially amend the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations and solicited opinions from Thursday, January 23, 2025, to Friday, February 21, 2025.
2. Future plans
Based on the results of the opinion solicitation, the MIC will promptly implement the institutional enhancement.
