April 10, 2025 Results of APT Training Workshop on Policy Development for High-Level Officials

　From April 7 to 10, 2025, the APT Training Workshop on Policy Development for High-Level Officials was held in Tokyo.

1. Purpose of the Workshop

　The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity* (APT) provides capacity building through training and seminars, and it coordinates regional policies on standardization and radio communications with the aim of achieving balanced development of telecommunications in the Asia-Pacific region. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) makes extra-budgetary contributions to the APT to contribute internationally, enhance leadership in the region, and support the overseas expansion of ICT industries.
As an initiative utilizing Japan's extra-budgetary contributions, the APT organized the "APT Training Workshop on Policy Development for High-Level Officials," which was designed for senior officials in charge of policymaking in telecommunications administrations. The workshop aimed to provide them with solutions to social issues and multifaceted perspectives through discussions on policy issues and to support capacity building, mutual understanding, and networking.

The APT was established in 1979 as an international organization specializing in ICT in the Asia-Pacific region. Its headquarters is in Bangkok, Thailand.

3. Future Direction

　We will continue to cooperate with the APT to contribute to efforts to resolve social issues in each country and to provide capacity building to government officials in each country.
