April 11, 2025 Selection Results for the Public Solicitation of Subsidy Projects for Communication Infrastructure, etc., for Solving Regional Issues Using Digital Technology (Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project)
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted a public solicitation for subsidy projects to support the development of communication infrastructure and other measures aimed at solving regional issues through the use of digital technology from Tuesday, January 28, 2025, to Thursday, March 6, 2025, and received 25 proposals. Based on evaluations by a panel of external experts, 18 proposals were selected and are announced below.
1. Overview
As population decline, aging, and economic structural changes progress, it is important to solve regional issues through labor saving measures and regional revitalization via the implementation of digital technology (regional community DX) in order to create sustainable communities and realize the Regional Revitalization 2.0 initiative.
Therefore, MIC will carry out the “Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project” with the aim of creating good examples of digital implementation and promoting early practical application nationwide through comprehensive measures such as support for securing digital human resources and systems, demonstration of advanced solutions such as AI and autonomous driving, and advanced wireless systems, and subsidies for the development of regional communication infrastructure.
As part of this project, we have solicited proposals from local governments, companies, and organizations in the region regarding subsidies for the cost of developing communication infrastructure and other facilities necessary for solving regional issues.
