April 17, 2025 Results of Third Australia-Japan Policy Dialogue for Telecommunications Resilience
From April 15 to 16, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), with Australia's Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts and the Department of Home Affairs, held the third Australia-Japan Policy Dialogue for Telecommunications Resilience and the Track 1.5 Dialogue with industry from both countries.

4. Overview
In the policy dialogue, the participants shared information and exchanged opinions regarding initiatives relating to Open RAN, Beyond 5G (6G), submarine cables, data centers, cybersecurity, and emergency communications. The parties agreed to continue working together on policy issues common to both countries.
In the Track 1.5 dialogue, with industry from both Japan and Australia, each company explained their respective projects in the Indo-Pacific region and held discussions based on the challenges they face in their actual business. The parties confirmed that the public and private sectors would work together to further deepen Japan-Australia cooperation.
