May 12, 2025 Results of the Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Notice Specifying the Range of Usable Frequencies for Specified Experimental Test Stations (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft Notice")
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions to review the range of usable frequencies for specified experimental test stations. The usable frequencies were publicly notified in accordance with Article 7, item 5 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 14 of 1950). The opinion solicitation period ran from Saturday, March 15, 2025 to Monday, April 14, 2025.
As a result, six opinions were submitted.
1. Background
Article 7, item 5 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act stipulates that the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications must publicly announce the frequencies for specified experimental test stations, as well as the areas and periods of use. Since 2004, the MIC has been making annual public announcements regarding the range of frequencies usable from July 1 of each year.
The MIC decided to review the range of usable frequencies for specified experimental test stations and solicited opinions on the Draft Notice from Saturday, March 15, 2025, to Monday, April 14, 2025.
2. Future plans
Based on the results, the MIC will promptly formulate the relevant notice.
