May 23, 2025 Publication of "DX and Innovation Acceleration Plan for 2030"

　Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has released the DX and Innovation Acceleration Plan for 2030.

1. Background

　To foster innovation and achieve economic growth amid a declining population, accelerating social DX—including the use of AI—is essential.
　In particular, to promote DX in local areas and achieve Regional Revitalization 2.0, it is crucial to establish new digital infrastructure centered on "all-photonics network." This network leverages photonics-electronics convergence technology, which is expected to be groundbreaking.
　In recent years we have seen an increase in the dependence on foreign countries in the digital field, which is a concern from a security perspective. To address this issue, it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of the technologies and systems that form the core of the digital infrastructure and to promote their overseas deployment.

2. Future initiatives

　Today, we are pleased to release the "DX and Innovation Acceleration Plan for 2030," as shown in Exhibit .
　Going forward, we will work to accelerate DX and innovation based on the "Digital Infrastructure Development Plan for 2030" and the "Comprehensive Strategies for Digital Overseas Deployment for 2030."
