June 13, 2025 Results of the Public Solicitation for R&D Proposals on the Expansion of Radio Resources to Be Implemented from FY 2025

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) issued a public solicitation for R&D proposals on the expansion of radio frequency resources to be newly implemented from FY 2025. The public solicitation was conducted from Thursday, March 20 to Fryday, April 18 of the same year. The proposals submitted underwent external evaluation, and 9 proposals were selected based on the evaluation results.

1. Overview

　To meet the growing demand for radio waves, the MIC is conducting R&D to expand radio wave resources. This R&D aims to reduce frequency congestion and enhance the efficient utilization of radio waves.
 The MIC issued a public solicitation for R&D proposals on the expansion of radio resources to be newly implemented from FY 2025, from Thursday, March 20 to Fryday, April 18, 2025. The MIC received 18 applications from private companies and other research institutions for three R&D themes.
