June 13, 2025 Report from the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council on Approval to Changes in Support Business Rules of Support Organizations for Basic Telecommunications Services

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today consulted the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council (chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo) regarding the approval of changes to the Support Business Rules of Support Organizations for Basic Telecommunications Services, and received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to approve the changes as consulted.
　The MIC will promptly grant approval based on this report.

1. Background

　On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the MIC received a request from the Telecommunications Carriers Association, a Support Organization for Basic Telecommunications Services, for approval of changes to the Support Business Rules of Support Organizations for Basic Telecommunications Services. In response, the MIC received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to grant the approval as inquired.

2. Future plans

　The MIC plans to promptly improve the Rules based on this report.
