June 30, 2025 Results of the Public Solicitation for Participation in the Development and Demonstration Projects for Countermeasure Technologies against Dis-/Mis-information on the Internet (hereinafter referred to as the "Development and Demonstration Projects")

 Regarding the Development and Demonstration Projects, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to select projects based on evaluations by external experts. The selected projects include those from 14 technological development organizations and six research and investigation organizations.

1. Project overview

 To address the risks associated with the distribution or spread of disinformation and misinformation on the Internet, including that generated by generative AI, the MIC is promoting the development, demonstration and social implementation of countermeasure technologies through the Development and Demonstration Projects.
 Targeting businesses and research institutions, the public solicitation for participation in the Development and Demonstration Projects was conducted through PwC Consulting LLC, a contractor. The public solicitation period ran from Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to Monday, May 26, 2025.

2. Details of the decision

 As a result of the public solicitation, we received proposals from 27 organizations (28 projects in total), including 21 technological development organizations (22 projects) and 6 research and investigation organizations (6 projects). Based on the evaluation results by the Evaluation Committee, which consists of external experts, we have decided to select 14 technological development organizations and six research and investigation organizations, as shown below:
