July 18, 2025 Results of the Secondary Public Solicitation for Local Governments and Other Entities Receiving Accompanying Support, Including the Formulation of Local DX Plans

As part of the "Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project," which aims to comprehensively support efforts to address regional issues through digital technology, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted a secondary public solicitation for "planning support." Under this initiative, experts will assist in organizing regional issues and formulating an introduction and operation plan in order to address them using digital technology. The MIC has selected 24 applications.

1. Overview

With ongoing population decline and aging, and economic structural changes, it is essential to create sustainable communities and realize the Regional Revitalization 2.0 initiative. To achieve this, addressing regional challenges through labor-saving measures and revitalization efforts is crucial—both of which can be facilitated by implementing digital technology (regional community DX).
To this end, the MIC is implementing a wide-ranging set of comprehensive measures—including support for securing digital human resources and organizational frameworks, demonstrating advanced solutions such as AI, autonomous driving, and cutting-edge wireless systems, as well as providing subsidies for the development of regional communication infrastructure. Through these initiatives, the MIC aims to create successful examples of digital implementation and promote early nationwide practical applications under the "Regional Community DX Promotion Package Project."

As part of this project, experts in digital technology will be dispatched to local governments aiming to address regional challenges through digital solutions. These experts will provide accompanying support, including identifying and organizing regional issues as an initial step toward digital adoption, and developing implementation plans to resolve these challenges using digital technology.
