July 4, 2025 Adoption of Indirectly Subsidized Entities by Fund Establishment Corporation for the Project for Strengthening Digital Infrastructure through Multi-routing of International Submarine Cables (hereinafter referred to as the "Digital Infrastructure Strengthening Project") under the FY2023 Supplementary Budget
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is currently implementing the Digital Infrastructure Strengthening Project. In connection with this project, the Fund Establishment Corporation has recently selected indirectly subsidized entities to install branch lines and branching devices for international submarine cables.
1. Overview
The Digital Infrastructure Strengthening Project, implemented by the MIC, supports the installation of branch lines and branching devices for international submarine cables. The project aims to enhance Japan’s position as a global data distribution hub and further reinforce its network infrastructure.
This project involves establishing a digital infrastructure development fund (a specified telecommunications equipment development promotion fund) and providing subsidies to private businesses that develop digital infrastructure using this fund as a financial source.
2. Adoption of indirectly subsidized entities
The Fund Establishment Corporation publicly solicited indirectly subsidized entities from April 8, 2025, to May 16, 2025, and adopted one after reviewing the application details.

3. Future schedule
