Announcement of the Evaluation Results of FY2024 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage (Targeting Radio Stations for Public Service) and the Results of Solicitation for Opinions

 The Radio Regulatory Council (chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus, Keio University) announces the evaluation results of FY2024 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage (targeting radio stations for public services).

1. Overview

 Based on the provisions of Article 26-3 of the Radio Act (No.131 of 1950), when receiving a report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) on the results of a survey on actual radio spectrum usage, the Radio Regulatory Council evaluates the degree of effective utilization of the radio spectrum, reports the results to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and makes this summary public.
 The Radio Regulatory Council solicited opinions on the "Draft Evaluation Results of FY2024 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage (targeting radio stations for public services)" from Tuesday, June 24, 2025, to Wednesday, July 23, 2025, and received four opinions.
 After discussions based on the submitted opinions, the Council has today reported the evaluation summary of results of FY2024 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage (targeting radio stations for public services) announced this summary.
