August 29, 2025 Solicitation of Opinions on the Draft Revision of the Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has prepared a draft revision to the “Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act.”
　Accordingly, opinions on this draft will be solicited from Saturday, August 30, 2025, through Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

1. Outline of revision

　This matter is revising the “Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act,” based on discussions held by the “Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules” (headed by Chief Investigator NIIMI Ikufumi, Professor Emeritus at Meiji University).

2. Guidelines for soliciting opinions

　Subject of opinion solicitation: Draft revision of the “Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act”
　Submission period: From Saturday, August 30, 2025, to Tuesday, September 30, 2025 (must be received by the deadline)

　The materials will be posted in the “Public Comments” section of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/ ).

3. Future plans

　Based on the opinions received, the MIC plans to promptly carry out the revision of these guidelines.
