September 10, 2025 Holding AI Security Subcommittee
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will convene the AI Security Subcommittee, chaired by MORI Tatsuya, Professor at Waseda University, under the Cyber Security Task Force, for the purpose of studying technical measures against threats to AI.

1. Background and outline
 AI technologies, including generative AI, are advancing at an accelerated pace and are rapidly being implemented across all aspects of society. 
 Under these circumstances, the AI Guidelines for Business have been formulated to promote the safe and secure use of AI, with "ensuring security" positioned as one of the common guiding principles that all entities should work together to follow. In light of the growing international interest in AI safety, Japan has also established the AI Safety Institute (AISI), consisting of relevant ministries and agencies, to identify the threats of AI. 
 Under these circumstances, the AI Security Subcommittee will be convened under the Cyber Security Task Force to study technical countermeasures against the threats of AI. 
2. Main items to be considered
(1) How AI developers and providers implement technological measures to address the threats of AI.
(2) How the aforementioned measures should be promoted and how awareness should be raised.
3. Schedule
The first meeting will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Subsequent meetings will be held sequentially thereafter.
