September 17, 2025 Publication of "Guide on Implementing Metaverse for Solving Social Issues"

　For the benefit of companies and local governments considering the implement of the metaverse (cyber spaces realized by immersive technologies), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled and published the "Guide on Implementing Metaverse for Solving Social Issues".

Overview

　Since October 2023, the "Study Group on Realizing Safe and Secure Metaverse" (established by the MIC) and chaired by KOZUKA Souichirou, Professor, Faculty of Law, Gakushuin University) has had a series of discussions.

　Based on the discussions and findings by this study group, the MIC has compiled and published the "Guide on Implementing Metaverse for Solving Social Issues", which includes key points regarding implementation of the metaverse along with actual examples, based on the results of interviews with companies and local governments that have successfully introduced the metaverse into and are utilizing it in their operations.

　This guide is intended primarily for persons in charge at companies and local governments who are considering implementing it into their operations.
