January 16, 2026 Public Solicitation for Information and Telecommunications Hub Function Enhancement Support Project (hereinafter the "Support Project") under the FY2025 Supplementary Budget
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will carry out a public solicitation for the Support Project under the FY2025 supplementary budget.
1. Outline of the project
The Support Project partially subsidizes mobile and fixed-line carriers for the cost of purchasing emergency recovery equipment to be deployed at their business sites. The equipment includes mobile power supply vehicles and portable base stations. The purpose of the subsidization is to accelerate the installation of emergency recovery equipment and ensure reliable communications at disaster-prevention facilities, such as municipal offices and disaster-prevention base hospitals, during disasters.
2. Implementing entities
Limited to mobile and fixed-line carriers that provide telecommunications services to prefectural and municipal government offices. (For details, please refer to Article 6 of the Procedures for Subsidizing the Support Project.)
3. Application period and submission method
(1) Application period and other information
Start of public solicitation: Friday, January 16, 2026
First closing date: Monday, January 26 of the same year, 12:00 (applications must be received by this time.)
Second closing date: Monday, February 16 of the same year, 12:00 (applications must be received by this time.)
Third closing date: Tuesday, March 31 of the same year, 12:00 (applications must be received by this time)
Decisions on granting subsidies will be made for applications submitted before the first closing date.
In the event of a large number of applications, the amount of subsidies may be adjusted within the budget.

Depending on the situation, applications may be accepted after the third closing date; please contact us separately.
(2) Application method
Please prepare your application materials in accordance with the Procedure for Subsidizing the Support Project (Attachment 1), and submit them by either of the following methods:
(i) Submit the application materials to the MIC as electronic data via email or the large-file transfer system designated by the MIC.
(ii) Submit your application through J‑Grants, the subsidy application system.

4. Future schedule (tentative)
Granting decision: February 2026 or later
