January 20, 2026 Convening of a Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration Meeting to Promote the Utilization of Immersive Technologies (hereinafter the "Immersive Tech Meeting")
Aiming to further promote the use of immersive technologies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold the Immersive Tech Meeting to examine ways to raise awareness of immersive technologies and encourage their widespread adoption.

1. Purpose
Immersive technologies—such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR)—are increasingly being used across a wide range of fields, including manufacturing, construction, transportation, medicine, education, culture, and public administration. These technologies, which fuse physical and virtual spaces, help address social issues. Unfortunately, the extent of their adoption remains limited. It is important to examine various issues that hinder their utilization from multiple perspectives and to further promote their use.
In the Immersive Tech Meeting, stakeholders involved in immersive technology, including metaverse-related service providers, device manufacturers, and business users, will share and discuss their knowledge and expertise. The stakeholders will also consider further revisions to the "Principles of the Metaverse" established by the Study Group on Realizing Safe and Secure Metaverse under the MIC. With the aim of further promoting the use of immersive technologies, the stakeholders will also examine ways to raise awareness and encourage their widespread adoption.
