January 21, 2026 Publication of the Report of the Study Group on Ensuring Governance of Broadcasters (hereinafter, the "Report") and the Results of Solicitation for Opinions

　The Study Group on Ensuring Governance at Broadcasters (hereinafter, the "Study Group"), chaired by George SHISHIDO, professor, the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the University of Tokyo, formulated the draft report of the Study Group (hereinafter, the "Draft Report"). The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on the draft report from Saturday, November 22, 2025, to Monday, December 22, 2025. As a result, 266 opinions were received.
Based on the results, the Report was formulated. The Report, along with the results of the opinion solicitation, will also be made publicly available.

1. Overview

　The MIC has held the Study Group since Friday, June 27, 2025 to discuss specific details of the governance required of broadcasters and the measures necessary to ensure it.

　Recently, the Study Group formulated the Draft Report. We solicited opinions on the draft from Saturday, November 22, 2025, to Monday, December 22, 2025, and received 266 opinions.

　Based on the results, the Report was formulated and is now available to the public, along with the results of the opinion solicitation.
