Status of Occurrence of Acts of Unauthorized Access and Progress of Research and Development on Technology Relating to Access Control Features
The National Police Agency (NPA), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) publicize the status of the occurrence of acts of unauthorized access and the progress of research and development on technology relating to access control features, pursuant to Article 10, Paragraph 1 of the Act on Prohibition of Unauthorized Computer Access (Act No. 128 of 1999).

1. Overview
To prevent computer-related crimes conducted via telecommunications lines and to maintain the order of telecommunications through access control features, it is imperative to establish an environment that makes unauthorized access difficult.
Accordingly, the NPA, MIC, and METI publish information on the status of the occurrence of acts of unauthorized computer access and the progress of research and development on technology relating to access control features, pursuant to Article 10, Paragraph 1 of the Act on Prohibition of Unauthorized Computer Access (Act No. 128 of 1999)*.
