March 23, 2026 Appeal for Exhibiters and Participating at “SET EXPO 2026” (Brazil), Latin America’s World-Class media and entertainment technology and business event.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has decided to open a "Japan Pavilion" at "SET EXPO 2026," an exhibition hosted by the Brazilian Society of Television Engineers (SET * ) in the Federative Republic of Brazil, to promote Japan's cutting-edge communications, broadcasting, media, and entertainment-related technologies. In this connection, MIC is also recruiting companies interested in exhibiting within the pavilion.

In recent years, Latin American countries have increased their presence against the backdrop of steady economic growth. They have become essential partners in the international community that shares fundamental values, such as democracy and market economy, with Japan.

Especially, after the Federative Republic of Brazil (hereinafter referred to as Brazil) has become the first overseas country that adopted the Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) system (the Japanese digital terrestrial system) since 2006, Japan and Brazil have been under active cooperation, mainly in the broadcasting field. Last March, by seizing the opportunity presented by the 130th milestone anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil, MIC and the Brazilian Ministry of Communications signed a memorandum of understanding to further deepen cooperation in the ICT field.

In Brazil, in August 2025, the executive order was signed to establish technical standards on "TV3.0," a next-generation broadcasting project aiming to integrate broadcasting and the Internet, and expectations for Japanese technology have been expressed by the Ministry of Communications of Brazil and broadcasting officials toward the practical application of "TV3.0."

Against this background, MIC has decided to open "Japan Pavilion" at "SET EXPO 2026" to be held in August of this year, in order to widely promote Japan's cutting-edge communications, broadcasting, media, and entertainment-related technologies to the "TV3.0" market, which is expected to become more active in Brazil, and to support Japanese companies' entry into the Brazilian market.

Therefore, MIC is looking for Japanese companies that wish to exhibit in Japan Pavilion.

This exhibition is aimed at all those involved in the technology market and the media and entertainment industry. MIC encourages Japanese companies in related industries to take advantage of this opportunity to promote their products and technologies overseas.
