March 24, 2026 Approval of Business Plans, etc. from Telephone Relay Service Providing Organizations and Telecommunications Relay Services Support Organizations for FY2026

　Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (the Minister) approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for FY2026 from a Telecommunications Relay Services providing organization and a Telecommunications Relay Services support organization based on the Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc. (Act No. 53 of 2020; hereinafter referred to as the “Act”).
　The Minister also approved the amounts and delivery method of grants, and the amounts and collection method of contributions for FY2026 submitted by a Telecommunications Relay Services support organization for FY2026.

1. Approval of the business plan and income and expenditure budget from a Telecommunications Relay Services providing organization

　Today, the Minister approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for Telecommunications Relay Services for FY2026. submitted by the Nippon Foundation (headed by President ONUMA Naoki) based on Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Act.

2. Approval of the business plan and income and expenditure budget from the Telecommunications Relay Services support organization

　Today, the Minister approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for FY2025 submitted by Telecommunications Carriers Association (chaired by SHIMADA Akira), a Telecommunications Relay Services support organization, based on Article 23, paragraph 1 of the Act.

3. Approval of the grants and contributions of a Telecommunications Relay Services support organization

　Today, the Minister approved the amounts and delivery method of grants for FY2025 submitted by Telecommunications Carriers Association (chaired by SHIMADA Akira), a Telecommunications Relay Services support organization based on Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Act.

　In addition, the Minister also approved today the amounts and collection method of contributions for FY2025 submitted by the same association based on Article 25, paragraph 2 of the Act.

　The amounts for FY2025 totaled approximately 2.919 billion yen
