March 30, 2026 Publication of the “Report of the task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services” and results of the public comment solicitation

　The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications solicited public comments on the “Report of the task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services (draft)” compiled by the “The task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services ” (Chair: Hiromasa Sekiguchi, Professor, Faculty of Business Administration, Kanagawa University) from Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
　Based on the results of this public comment solicitation and the public comments submitted, we publish the "Report of the task force on the Future of Telecommunications Relay Services."

1 Background

　The task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services (hereinafter referred to as “the task force”) held discussions regarding the future of Telecommunications Relay Services and compiled the “Report of the task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services (draft)” at the third meeting of the task force (held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026). Following this, the public comment solicitation was held from Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to Tuesday, February 24, 2026, during which 12 comments were submitted.

　We publish the “Report of the task force on the future of Telecommunications Relay Services,” which was compiled based on these public comments and the results of discussions at the fourth meeting of the task force (held on Monday, March 23 of the same year).
