Results of Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Report by the Effective Use of Radio Waves Committee

-“Approach to Frequency Allocation” (New Wireless Usage on 900-MHz Band) and “Approach to Licensing Systems, etc.” (Approach to Certification of Radio Equipment), as part of “How to Promote Effective Use of Radio Waves to Adapt to Changes in the Social Environment”.-

  The Effective Use of Radio Waves Committee, chaired by FUJII Takeo, professor of the Advanced Wireless and Communication Research Center, the University of Electro-Communications, under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council, compiled the Draft Report on the “Approach to Frequency Allocation” (New Wireless Usage on 900-MHz Band) and “Approach to Licensing Systems, etc.” (Approach to Certification of Radio Equipment), as part of “How to Promote Effective Use of Radio Waves to Adapt to Changes in the Social Environment” (Consultation No. 30 dated February 3, 2025). The Committee solicited opinions from Wednesday, February 18, 2026, to Thursday, March 19, 2026.
  As a result, 58 opinions were submitted. The opinions submitted along with the Committee's position on them will be made available.

2  Future Plans

 The Draft Report will be discussed at the next meeting of the ICT Subcommittee, chaired by TAKADA Junichi, Executive Vice President in charge of Global Affairs at the Institute of Science Tokyo, and a professor at the School of Environment and Society, under the Information and Communications Council.
