1. Purpose
As evidenced by the spread of generative AI in recent years, digital technologies around us are advancing rapidly and have brought about significant changes in people’s lives and society.
In a future society where digitalization has advanced further, AI, robots, and other digital technologies are expected to permeate every aspect of our lives, communicate directly with people, and actively interact with them.
Such advances in digital technology bring convenience, but they also influence human decision-making and behavior and may at times constrain individual freedom. As the areas entrusted to digital technology expand, people’s roles and responsibilities will also change.
With the period up to around 2050 in mind, the Study Group will examine measures to build a well-being society in which people can play an active role through the coexistence of people and digital technologies.
2. Research topics
- (1) Future vision of digital technology, people, and society for the period leading up to around 2050
- (2) The ideal relationship between people and digital technology
- (3) Capabilities required of people and considerations in the development and implementation of digital technologies
- (4) Other matters deemed necessary
3. Schedule
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and subsequent meetings will be scheduled sequentially.
Information about the meeting schedule will be posted on the MIC website.
