April 22, 2026 Results of the Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Ministerial Ordinance Partially Amending the Essential standards for establishing the Radio Stations (excluding Basic Broadcast Stations) and the report from the Radio Regulatory Council.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications solicited public comments on the Draft Ministerial Ordinance to amend some of the Essential standards for establishing the Radio stations (excluding Basic Broadcasting Stations) from March 10, 2026 (Tuesday) to April 8, 2026 (Wednesday). Four comments were submitted and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications publishes the submitted comments and its responses.
Furthermore, based on the results of the public comment socilitation, the Ministry consulted the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus of Keio University) today and received a report stating that the draft is appropriate.

We solicited public comments on the Draft Ministerial Ordinance to amend some of the Essential standards for establishing the Radio stations (excluding Basic Broadcasting Stations) (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft Ministerial Ordinance") from March 10, 2026 (Tuesday) to April 8, 2026 (Wednesday) and four comments were submitted.

2. Future plans

Based on the results of the public comment solicitation from the Radio Regulatory Council, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications promptly revise the Ministerial Ordinances.
