May 1, 2026 Meeting of the "Study Group on Addressing Issues Related to Information Distribution in the Digital Space"

1 Purpose

Since October 10, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has been holding the "Study Group on Addressing Issues Related to Information Distribution in the Digital Space” (chaired by SHISHIDO George, Professor, Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the University of Tokyo). On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Study Group compiled the “Interim Report from the Study Group on Addressing Issues Related to Information Distribution in the Digital Space.” To conduct further deliberations in light of subsequent developments, a meeting (main session) of the Study Group will be held.

• (1) Addressing Issues on Disclosure of identification information of the sender
• (2) Addressing issues related to the dissemination and spread of information infringing on rights
