May 22, 2026 Results of First Singapore-Japan Digital Cooperation Dialogue

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) of the Republic of Singapore held the first Singapore-Japan Digital Cooperation Dialogue, based on the Strategic Partnership between Japan and Singapore, to advance bilateral cooperation in the field of ICT.

4. Overview

In the dialogue, the participants exchanged views on initiatives in the field of ICT, including digital infrastructure, online safety, quantum-safe technology, and AI. The parties agreed to continue working together on policy issues common to both countries. In addition, industry representatives from both Japan and Singapore presented their collaborative projects and latest technologies. The parties reaffirmed that the public and private sectors would work together to further deepen bilateral cooperation.

This dialogue is referenced in the “Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership Between Japan and the Republic of Singapore,” announced by the two leaders in March this year on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. MIC will continue to further promote bilateral cooperation in the field of ICT.
