Results of Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Report by the Aeronautical and Maritime Radiocommunications Committee
- Technical Requirements for Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices (AMRD) (hereinafter referred to as the “AMRD Technical Requirements”) as part of Technical Requirements for Maritime Radio Communication Equipment (hereinafter referred to as the “Maritime Technical Requirements”) -
The Aeronautical and Maritime Radiocommunications Committee, chaired by OZEKI Shigeru, a technical advisor, and the Aviation Safety Radio Systems Association, under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council, solicited opinions on the AMRD Technical Requirements. These requirements are part of the Maritime Technical Requirements (Telecommunications Technology Council Consultation No. 50, dated April 23, 1990). The solicitation period was from Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to Thursday, May 7, 2026.
As a result, three opinions were submitted. The opinions submitted along with the Committee's view on these opinions are now made public.

2 Future plans
Based on the results of the opinions solicited, the draft report will be discussed at the next meeting of the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council, chaired by TAKADA Jun-ichi, Executive Vice President for Global Affairs and Professor at the School of Environment and Society, Institute of Science Tokyo.
